In 2022, Gov. Doug Burgum unveiled his Red Tape Reduction initiative, intending to cut unnecessary and burdensome red tape to improve government efficiencies and reduce barriers for people and businesses. During the 2023 Legislative Session, Senate Bill 2056 was signed into law, eliminating unnecessary forms and processes for businesses interacting with the Department. It was such a success in 2023 we want to do it again in 2025, and we need your help.
Is there a form, report, or process required by the North Dakota Century Code that you feel is unnecessary, redundant, or burdensome as it relates to interacting with the Insurance Department? If you are a licensed agent, a representative of an insurance company, or an insurance consumer, we invite you to submit suggestions that help us eliminate unnecessary red tape. We aim to collect ideas and suggestions to cut red tape ahead of the 2025 Legislative Session.
Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis with no firm deadline. We welcome all suggestions and thoughts; however, submissions that would hamper the goals and objectives of the Department will not be considered.
